In 2016 at the Fado Museum, Fernanda begins her study in the Portuguese guitar and fado with master Antonio Parreira. Subsequently starts to attend the fado associations and fado houses, accompanying the fado singers.

was part of two Fado projects where its members are women, the first with a more traditional approach “As Mariquinhas” and another for a more modern approach “Amara Quartet”.

A frequent figure in Lisbon Fado houses, in 2022 she represented "Tasca do Chico" in Santa Casa Alfama Festival, took part in important events in the city of Lisbon such as the opening of Eurovision in 2018 and the opening of the workshop for constructing Portuguese guitars in 2019. In 2020, as a Portuguese guitar soloist, she was invited by the Camões Institute of New Delhi to represent Portugal in the 11th Calcutta International Classical Guitar Festival.

Fernanda Maciel is Portuguese and Brazilian citizen, graduated in Classical Guitar from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and post-graduated in Musical Sciences from The New University of Lisbon.
